Japanese StainlessScrap Exports down by30.2%MOM in June

 Based on Trade Statistics of Japan, in June total export of stainless steel scrap from Japan was 11,984 tonne, down by 30.2% compared with what in the previous month. The average export unit price was JPY122.5/kg, fell from JPY127/kg in May and was JPY136/kg in April.

The export of Korean products was 3,879 tonne, sharply decreased by more than 60% compared with 9,949 tonne produced in the previous month. The export unit price was JPY141.97/kg.

Also, total of the Taiwanese products decreased to 3,720 tonne compared with 5,480 tonne produced in the previous month (the export unit price was JPY145.83/kg). Total of the Indian products greatly increased to 1,005 tonne compared with 600 tonne in the previous month. The export unit price fell from 161 yen in the previous month, to JPY156.12/kg.

The Indian and Taiwanese market greatly increased, the Koreanese decreased
The Indian market has grown rapidly this year. The production from January to June were 3,881 tonne in total, rising by 7 times compared with what in the same period of the previous year. The Taiwanese market has also increased rapidly this year. The production from January to June were 25,104 tonne in total, rising by 3.5 times compared with what in the previous year.
On the contrary, the Korean market totaled 54,481 tonne this year, falling by 20% compared with 68,098 tonne in the same period of the previous year.
